Maybe you don't even know what Bountiful Baskets are.  Well, it's a food co-op that delivers fruit, vegetables, bread, granola and lots of other extras.  You can order a conventional basket or an organic basket and add any extras that are available that week.  In Cut Bank, the baskets are delivered every week on Saturday, I think other communities might have them every other week.  I've been getting a basket for about 3 weeks and have found the food to be fresh and delicious.  The conventional basket costs just $15 and is filled with items like Romaine Lettuce, pears, cucumbers, asparagus and lots of other things that are expensive at the grocery store, but very reasonable here.

I have gotten things in my basket that I've never eaten before and I've enjoyed figuring out what to do with it - there's a website for that. I'm also a member of a group on Facebook that is basically BB folks discussing what is in their basket and what might be done with it.  It's been a lot of fun!

The co-op concept is great and I go to volunteer to help unload the truck and load the baskets each week.  Volunteering isn't required, but the more people who show up, the faster the whole thing goes.

I believe the usual number of baskets is 96 per week and Cut Bank will receive a double drop today of 192 baskets.  I know the baskets have been selling out really quickly once it's opened up (10am on Monday), so I'm curious to see if that happened this week as well.

If you're interested in Bountiful Baskets and just want to see what it's about or maybe want to try a basket, click HERE to visit their website. You can order beginning on Monday at 10am.

If you've already gotten a basket, I'd love to hear what you think and whether you'll continue to get the baskets.  I personally love it and I will continue.
