Our KSEN/K96--Bozeman Trophy Athletes of the Week didn't have huge statistical numbers, but both were described as leaders on their teams that won big games.
That was especially true for our Female Athlete of the Week, Shelby senior Addison Richman.  Shelby Head Coach Lexy Fisher says Addison "continually plays with consistency and smart decision making as the team's setter on offense.  In addition, she steps up and gives us a huge presence on defense." In key matches last week, Addiison had 39 of 41 assists and 5 of the team's 10 aces. In that 5-set match, the Coyotes came up with the conference win over previously undefeated Fairfield.  In the Fort Benton match, she had all 54 of their assists and 2 of 7 aces. Coach Fisher says, "her leadership sets the tone."
We also had a strong nomination for Cut Bank Sr. Jaycee Luse who led Cut Bank to big wins over Choteau and Chinook. She recorded 10 kills and 9 blocks in the Choteau match and 21 kills and 4 blocks against Chinook.
Our Male Athlete of the Week piled up some pretty impressive numbers, especially when you consider he didn't play a lot in the 2nd half with Fairfield dominating the game against Cut Bank.  Coach Aaron Barnett said Jr. Quarterback Brock Peace "gave us a solid performance with 3 TD passes and 233 yards passing overall.  He also added 29 yards rushing and ran the offense well. The Coach also recognized Jr. receiver Saber Allen who caught a TD pass and said they were especially pleased with Allen's two kicks into the end zone, denying any Cut Bank return.
Congratulations to our KSEN/k96--Bozeman Trophy Athletes of the Week, Shelby Sr. Addison Richman and Fairfield Jr. Brock Peace.  The Athlete of the Week is sponsored locally by McDonald's in Cut Bank. McDonald's honors our Athlete's with two free value meals each.
