KSEN/K96 Athletes of the Week
Our KSEN/K96-- Bozeman Trophy Athletes of the week were game changers for their teams and one, a dual sport athlete.
Fall is a hectic time of the year for Choteau star senior Natalie Hodgskiss. Our 1st female Athlete of the Week had an especially busy Saturday. After running to a 3rd place finish in the Havre X-C Invitational, Natalie hopped in the vehicle and went down the road to lead Choteau to a 3-0 sweep of Chinook in Volleyball. In that X-Country runner, Natalie was competing against 83 runners, and she turned in an excellent time of 18:14. It could have been a personal best, but for a reason unknown to us Havre had set a shorter course than normal. Still an excellent performance. On the Volleyball court, Natalie led the Bulldogs in attacks, serve receiving and was 2nd in serve percentage. She put down 6 kills in the match. Stats were unavailable from the very close, 3-set win against Shelby, but assistant Coach Callie Peebles said, Natalie, once again "played a pivotal role." Choteau won that game by 3-points, in overtime and by two points.
Our Male Athlete of the Week was described as a game changer in Shelby's conference win over Wolf Point. Coyote Sophomore Marshall Richman was the "big play" man of the night, and Head Coach Dean Lerum say he might be the best punt and kickoff return man in the Northern Division. Marshall had a punt return for a TD in the 1st half that was called back on a penalty, but still the effort was tremendous. With Shelby leading 6-o coming out of the locker room, Richman lit up the score board on the opening kickoff. The extra point was good and Shelby hung on to win 14-6. Richman also had 3 receptions for 42-yards, 2 tackles from his safety position and 2 interceptions, including the game saver in the Wolf Point end zone.
Congratulations to our KSEN/K96--Bozeman Trophy Athletes of the Week senior Natalie Hodgskiss, Choteau Bulldogs and sophomore Marshall Richman, Shelby Coyotes. The Athlete of the Week is sponsored locally by McDonald's in Cut Bank. McDonald's honors our Athlete's with two free value meals each.
