Our KSEN/K96 Bozeman Trophy female Athlete of the Week is doing some things that result in big statistics but they result in big wins and our male Athlete of the Week should be #1 after beating #1.

If you look in last week's box scores you won't see our female Athlete of the Week as one of the leading scorers but as her nominator put it....and Cut Bank Head Girls Coach Brandon Kavanagh agreed......Sr. Alex Kraft is doing pretty much everything else.

Kraft runs the offense at the Point Guard, plays the lead on the press and brings the ball up the floor against the press.  And while she may not always score a lot, her scoring seems to be very timely.  In Cut Bank's win over CJI last Friday, the Lady Wolves couldn't "hit the ocean in the 1st quarter, but Logan Swenson came off the bench and hit their first Field goal and Kraft followed with two straight 3-pointers and another field goal to get the ball rolling.

Alex had just 7 points in the win over Shelby Saturday but again they came in key situations.

Our Male Athlete of the Week is accustomed to winning, but he came into his Championship match at the Choteau Classic facing the #1 ranked B-C wrestler in the state and pulled off the win against Brenden Johnson of Harlem 2-0.      Choteau Head Coach Steve French said Sr. Trey Stone is the first Bulldog in his tenure to win the Choteau Classic 3 years in a row.  Stone was one of five Choteau wrestlers to win the Championship and lead Choteau to the team title.

Stone improved his record to 22-5 on the year and 120-43 in his career.

Listen to our full report, with comments from Brandon Kavanagh in the 5 O'clock hour tonight and again at 7:25 Thursday morning.    We appreciate everyone who nominates an Athlete of the Week and tells us their story.
