KSEN/K96 Athletes of the Week
Our KSEN/K96 --Bozeman Trophy Athlete's of the Week not only had to beat the competition, but the brutal weather conditions in Cut Bank last weekend... Welcome to spring sports in Montana.
Female Athlete of the Week honors go to Conrad Sr. Trinity Vandenbos. Conrad Head Tennis Coach Paul Schilling, who by the way was the one that used the term brutal, said Trinity, who is normally a doubles player, didn't have her teammate at the tournament and so, instead played singles. Coach Schilling said he was impressed with her ability to switch at the last minute and defeat 3, Class A Havre players to win the Singles Championship. Trinity has been a state qualifier in doubles the last two years and has also been competing at the Varsity level in Conrad since she was a Freshman in Volleyball and Basketball. She also competes at a Hi level in Speech & Drama.
Our Male Athlete of the Week, you might say, put out notice that he's going to be a contender in the sprint events this season. We're not sure if he was running with the wind, but Conrad So. Ledger Martin, finished in the top 10 in the 100m and then came back to finish 2nd in the 200m, and finally won the 400m. 16 schools were represented at the Cut Bank Booster Invitational and the competition level was top-notch.
We also had a nomination this week for high jumper Justyce Yeager of Choteau who had a jump of 5'8" in Cut Bank. It was a personal best after recovering from an ACL meniscus in his So. year. His nominator noted that Justyce has put his competitive nature aside and help coach his younger brother Rusch, who won the State B High Jump championship last year.
Congratulations to our KSEN/K96--Bozeman Trophy Athlete's of the Week, Sr. Trinity Vandenbos of Conrad and So. Ledger Martin of Conrad. The Athlete of the Week is sponsored locally by McDonald's in Conrad. McDonald's honors our Athlete's with two free value meals each.
