KSEN/K96 Athletes of the Week
Our KSEN/K96--Bozeman Trophy Athletes of the Week just keep getting better every week.
That might be especially true of our Male Athlete of the Week who played some as an 8th grader last season but has now become an integral part of a Choteau team who has become one of the best in the 1B. Freshman point guard Trent Taylor was highly visible in the Bulldogs three games this past week. As the Bulldogs avenged an earlier loss to Fort Benton, their only loss of the season, Taylor led the way shooting 54% from the field with 16 points. He added 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals. Trent had 10-points in a lopsided win over Rocky boy, but then really hit the mark from outside Tuesday night against Cascade. In that game he shot 64%, made 6-3's and ended with 24 points, 4 assists and a steal. Choteau Head Coach Nate Tschida says he "really had a nice game," and just keeps improving.
Our Female Athlete of the Week is having the Wrestling season of a lifetime. Cut Bank So. Stella Wahl, also an outstanding runner and academic student, is as far as we can tell, as close to perfect as you can get. Wahl has won every tournament she's been in, including The Havre Invitational, The Flathead Girls Invitational, The CMR Holiday Tournament, The Hellgate Girls Invitational, and last weekend, The Lewistown Female Invitational. She has not lost a match all year and her 26-0 record has her ranked #1 in the State at 135 pounds. I just gotta say it, Stella has been stellar.
We also had a nice nomination for Katy Morris who led the Simms girls' basketball team to 3 wins last week, highlighted by 16 points against conference foe Centerville.
Congratulations to our KSEN/K96--Bozeman Trophy Athletes of the Week, Fr. Trent Taylor of Choteau and So. Stella Wahl of Cut Bank. The Athlete of the Week is sponsored locally by McDonald's in Cut Bank. McDonald's honors our Athlete's with two free value meals each.
