Native Americans & The U.S. Army @ WAR!
Tomorrow (Sat) morning, at 7:30, on our sports trivia, Happy Jack, will have the riveting roaring book, "Montana Battlefields; 1806-1877; Native Americans & The U.S. Army at War," up for grabs. The 1st caller in at 7:30, with the correct answer to Jack's sports trivia question WINS the book! Helena author, Barbara Fifer, takes readers on a historic journey to the solemn sites of Montana's most fascinating & storied battles. They're all here, from Two Medicine Creek, to the Little Bighorn & on to our Sweetgrass Hills, coming at you like a knuckle sandwich. Chief Gall, of the Hunkpapa Sioux, outlined their position to a Peace Commission at Fort Rice, in future North Dakota, back in 1867. The Chief submitted, "Suppose the people living beyond the great sea would come & tell you that you must stop farming & kill your cattle, & take your houses & lands, what would YOU do? Would you not fight them?" The book's a rip roaring page turner for sure. Check "Montana Battlefields," from Farcountry Press, at www.farcountrypress.com, & then listen to WIN, Saturday morning at 7:30, with Happy Jack. Jack's sitting in for me on sports trivia... I got too stressed at our radio auction this week & need a break...
