Pondera County Sheriff enters plea
(CONRAD) – PONDERA COUNTY SHERIFF CARL SUTA APPEARED IN JUSTICE COURT THIS (Tues) MORNING AND ENTERED A NOT GUILTY PLEA TO ONE COUNT OF MISDEMEANOR ASSAULT FOR ALLEGEDLY KICKING HIS OWN SON AND CAUSING BODILY INJURY.
NO FURTHER COURT DATES WERE SET IMMEDIATELY, BUT LOCAL JUSTICE AMBER SCHOENROCK IS RECUSING HERSELF FROM THE CASE WHICH WILL NOW BE HEARD BY CASCADE COUNTY JUSTICE OF THE PEACE STEVE BOLSTAD.
SHERIFF SUTA WAS REQUIRED TO BE OFFICIALLY BOOKED AND RELEASED ON HIS OWN RECOGNIZANCE.
MEANWHILE, A RECALL PETITION DRIVE, AGAINST SHERIFF SUTA CONTINUES IN PONDERA COUNTY AND MORE THAN A THIRD OF THE 530 SIGNATURES REQUIRED TO FORCE A RECALL VOTE HAVE BEEN COLLECTED.
