We’ll B Up @ Marias Pass
I'm looking forward to reading & share more Montana history this evening (Tuesday) up at the Marias Heritage Center here in Shelby. Currently, we're smack dab in the middle of "Glacier Ghost Stories; Spooky Tales & Legends from Glacier National Park."Montana author AND paranormal investigator Karen Stevens who's already written TWO previous "haunted-type" books, has put this little gem together. Last Tuesday, we started on the chapter "Mysterious Marias Pass," & when we left off last week, it was December 1889, & the snow was so deep that Great Northern Railway engineer John P. Stevens & his guide had to set out to attempt to find the danged pass on "improvised" snowshoes they themselves had strung together with rawhide! We'll find out more about the "mysterious" Marias Pass tonight at 6 o'clock SHARP during Montana History up at the Heritage. My thoughts? This was not only the infamous "shoe leather express," it was the RAWHIDE express!
