BOTH OF OUR KSEN/K96—BOZEMAN TROPHY ATHLETE’S OF THE WEEK ARE BIG TIME PLAYERS ON EXCELLENT TEAMS AND THEIR VALUE TO THOSE TEAMS WERE HUGE THIS PAST WEEKEND.

FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK HONORS GO TO BROWNING JR. TAMIKA GUARDIPEE.  THE BROWNING GIRLS ARE CURRENTLY 8-0 IN THE NORTHWESTERN A DIVISION AND 12-2 OVERALL SO OBVIOUSLY THEY’RE GETTING GREAT TEAM PLAY, BUT COACH RAY AUGARE SAYS TAMIKA HAS BEEN THE MOST CONSISTENT IN SCORING AND REBOUNDING.

SHE IS AVERAGING 15 POINTS A GAME AND ALMOST 10 REBOUNDS PER GAME.  THE POINTS BECOME EVEN MORE IMPRESSIVE WHEN  YOU CONSIDER THAT SHE IS BEING DOUBLE TEAMED ALMOST CONTINUALLY.   IN GAMES LAST WEEK SHE SCORED 14 IN A ONE POINT WIN OVER SHELBY AND CAME BACK WITH 14 POINTS AND 10 REBOUNDS IN A BROWNING WIN OVER LIBBY.    COACH AUGARE SAYS SHE IS IN THE TOP 3 IN SCORING AND REBOUNDING IN THE NORTHWESTERN A.

ALSO NOMINATED THIS WEEK SHELBY JR. BAILY JOHNSON WHO HAD TWO SOLID NIGHTS IN LOSSES TO CUT BANK AND BROWNING WITH A COMBINED 29 POINTS.  SHE WAS A HUGE PART OF THE LADY COYOTES COMEBACK ATTEMPT AGAINST CUT BANK IN THE 2ND HALF.

OUR MALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK IS ALSO NO STRANGER TO SCORING.  SR. SAYER PATTON OF CHOTEAU HAD ANOTHER 30 PT. GAME IN A BIG WIN FOR CHOTEAU IN OVERTIME AGAINST FAIRFIELD LAST WEEK.  WHILE CHOTEAU COACH MATT LUEDTKE PRAISED THE “TEAM” EFFORT IN THAT GAME THERE WERE OBVIOUSLY A COUPLE OF BIG INDIVIDUAL PERFORMANCES.   ONE CAME FROM ACTON SNYDER WHO HAD 11 OF HIS 22 POINTS IN THE 4TH QUARTER WHEN AS THEY PHRASED IT IN THE CHOTEAU ACANTHA, FAIRFIELD HAD PATTON HEAVILY GUARDED.

BUT PATTON FOUND WAYS TO GET THINGS DONE INCLUDING HITTING A 3-POINT SHOT TO TIE THE GAME AND SEND IT INTO OVERTIME WITH LESS THAN 10-SECONDS TO PLAY.  HE ALSO SCORED ON TWO CONSECUTIVE DEFENSIVE REBOUNDS EARLY IN THE OVERTIME AND AGAIN ENDED THE NIGHT WITH 30 AND 7-10 FROM THE FREE THROW LINE.  PATTON THREW UP 18 POINTS IN A WIN SAT. AGAINST BOULDER.

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR KSEN/K96—BOZEMAN TROPHY ATHLETE’S OF THE WEEK, SR. SAYER PATTON OF CHOTEAU AND JR. TAMIKA GUARDIPEE OF BROWNING.  THE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK IS SPONSORED LOCALLY BY McDONALD’S IN CUT BANK.   McDONALD’S HONORS OUT ATHLETE’S WITH TWO FREE VALUE MEALS EACH.
