Jerry Puffer

Jerry 1

Born and raised in Big Sky Country. Career includes radio and television in the midwest and east coast. I try to lead by example. I tend to be goal oriented with an eye on the future. I enjoy gourmet cooking, fishing, and thrive on challenging opportunities both in and outside of the business. While some might consider me a risk taker, I prefer to think of myself as a level headed, clear thinking individual with compassion yet stern principles.

It’s A Whopper!

Did you hear about the rainbow trout Cut Bank's Justin Byers caught last Saturday? It weighed in a 9 pounds (!) and I'm NOT exaggerating. Justin caught this beauty from the boat up at Mission lake and I'll be mentioning Justin's feat this weekend on our "Old Fishing Hole" program on both KSEN AM and K 96 FM

Back To The Bakken

Who's NOT talking about the oil boom these days? There's a documentary on Montana-PBS this evening (Thursday) at 7 and it should be worth watching for all of us here in the Golden Triangle and on the Rocky Mountain Front

I’ve Been Called A “Dinosaur” A Time Or Two

You don't have to tell me about dinosaurs...I'm often been called one by my younger colleagues! I'm even older than my friend Jim Anderson down at Grizzly Sports in Choteau! Speaking of Choteau, the grand opening of the Two Medicine Dinosaur Learning Center over in Bynum is set for this Saturday

If You Can Grill, You Can Smoke

New York Times Best Selling cookbook author and James Beard Award Nominee, Jamie Purviance will be joining me at 4:45 tomorrow (Thursday) afternoon on the Puffman Show. (I might lead into this interview with the old Platter's tune, "Smoke Gets In Your Eyes" or perhaps "Smokin' In The Boys Room"

There will be this evening (Tuesday) when I'm back up at the Marias Heritage Center reading Montana History. I'm excited today because tonight, we start reading a brand new book about a lady doctor in the old west

The Center 4 Mental Health Advisory Board meets today (Tuesday) at noon at Ringside Ribs here in Shelby. Our board meets the 3rd Tuesday of every month September through May. Keying In On The Crops

Some of the custom cutters might as well be singing that 70's Al Stewart tune, "On The Border". They're "waiting at the border" to head south to Vernon/Harrold, Texas. The equipment and crew are ready, the crops in Texas are ready (& have been since May 5th!), but the paper work is moving slower than molasses in January

There’s Always Something Going On Up There

When I think about all the activity going on at our Marias Heritage Center (retirement living at it's best), it seems like a veritable beehive of activity! This Monday, the Heritage Center is having their Community Card Party beginning at 1:30

Say Cheese

This afternoon (Friday) on Puffman Musical Trivia, I'm giving away a beautiful presentation just in time for Mother's Day weekend. The book is "Dear Photograph" by Taylor Jones. This hardcover from William Morrow, An Imprint of HarperCollinsPublishers just went on sale nationwide on Tuesday (5/8) and it's already proven to be a stunning visual compilation that includes more than 140 never-before-seen Dear Photographs (visit DearPhotograph

Anyone For Tea?

All Aboard

My co-worker Anne James did a great blog this week on National Train Day coming up this Saturday, May 12th. After reading Anne's blog, I decided to put through a call to Marc Magliari out in Chicago. Marc's the media relations manager for Amtrak and he's always a great guest
