CHS retail locations across Montana, which includes Mountain West Cooperative, have raised $23,870 for Montana’s hungry children, seniors and families.

“CHS employees in Montana raised the money with barbecues, raffles and many other community events around the state. We raised the equivalent of over 71,000 meals for people that are in need and it’s a worthy effort.  It’s the growers, the employees and other generous people state wide that made the donations in many communities.  We just kind of administered it, orchestrated it and we’re very happy to do that,” said Tim Miller, CHS Vice President of Mountain Region County Operations.

CHS is a nationwide farmer owned agriculture company.  Employees at branches in Missoula, Kalispell, Cut Bank, Havre, Great Falls, Lewistown, Circle and many other communities helped raise the money for the Montana Food Bank Network.

“We are so appreciative of CHS for raising so much money for hungry Montanans,” said Gayle Gifford, CEO of the Montana Food Bank Network.

The Montana Food Bank Network is Montana’s only statewide food bank. Last year, MFBN distributed nearly 8 million pounds of food through over 200 partner agencies across Montana including pantries, soup kitchens, shelter and senior centers.
