(CONRAD) – THE CITY OF CONRAD HAS VOTED UNANIMOUSLY TO GIVE

UP SOME OF THEIR SHARES TO AID THE COMMUNITY IN BRADY.

THE AGREEMENT IS A COMPLICATED ONE ACCORDING TO CONRAD MAYOR

WENDY JUDISCH BUT SHE TOLD KSEN THIS (WED.) MORNING THAT DESPITE SOME

OPPOSITION, THE CITY COUNCIL WAS COMFORTABLE WITH THE AGREEMENT.

THE AGREEMENT WILL PROVIDE BRADY WITH 75-ACRE FEET OF WATER PER

YEAR AND 225 OF THE SHARES THAT THE CITY OF CONRAD HAS WITH THE PONDERA

CANAL AND RESERVOIR COMPANY WILL BE TRANSFERRED TO THE REGIONAL WATER

AUTHORITY THAT WILL SERVE BRADY.

JUDISCH ADMITTED THAT AT TIMES IT’S BEEN A “CONTENTIOUS” WITH A LOT

OF PRESSURE ON THE COUNCIL’S VOTE.
