“Everyone talks about the weather” as the old cliche goes, and there’s good reason. According to the National Weather Service, each year, Americans cope with 10,000 thunderstorms, 5,000 floods, a thousand tornadoes and on average, 2 land-falling hurricanes.

From its beginning, the National Weather Service has been improving its forecasting capabilities, so we have as much advance warning of hazardous weather as possible.  Broadcasters like KSEN and K96-fm are part of the nation-wide Emergency Alert System (EAS), and we work closely with the NWS and our local emergency response coordinators to make sure you have the information you need in emergencies.
