KSEN / K96 -- Bozeman Trophy Athletes of the Week were very impressive in the 1st week of being able to get out and perform in Track and Field with nice weather. Our Male Athlete of the Week, put out notice that he'll be a contender in all of the sprint events this season.  Shelby Sr. Randon Richman showed up big in the Cal Wearley Invitational at Havre last Wednesday.   With almost 70 runners in the 100m, Richman ran to a 4th place finish and then followed it up with a 3rd in the 200m, and 2nd in the 400m. The efforts were even more impressive at the Choteau Acantha Invitational on Saturday where Richman competed against almost 90 runners in the 100m and came up with a 3rd place finish.  He had a 2nd place finish in the 200m and won the 400m.  Randon also ran on the Shelby 400 and 1600 relay teams where they finished 2nd and 4th respectively in Choteau. Also nominated this week, Ledger Martin of Conrad a high placer also in the sprint events.  Hayden Schilling with a PR in the Discus and a 2nd place finish in Choteau.  And Kyle McDermott who won the Javelin in Choteau and Roscoe Shaw who won the Javelin in Havre.

The Girls competition was every bit as sharp, but Sunburst standout Claire Bucklin was once again amazing in her debut meets for the season.  Claire pre-qualified for State in the 100 hurdles and Long Jump.  In Havre she won the 300 hurdles and the Long Jump.  She finished 2nd in the 200m and 4th in the 100m. Even slightly better in the meet at Choteau Saturday.  Bucklin won the 100m, 100 hurdles and the Long Jump and was 3rd in the 400m.  In the Long Jump, Bucklin broke her own school record in Havre and then broke it again in Choteau with a leap of 16'10". Also nominated this week, Shelby Jr. Adele Lamb with a PR of 4'10" in the High Jump at Choteau.  Brynn Kammerzell, CJI with a 5'1" leap in the High Jump in Havre.  Both Lamb and Kammerzell pre-qualified for State with those jumps.
