New England Patriots defensive lineman Vince Wilfork has pledged to give any donations that come in to his foundation for the rest of the month to aid victims of the Boston bombings. [WEEI]

Wide receiver Danny Amendola, who only recently joined the Patriots, joined Wilfork in pledging to donate $100 for every ball he catches next season—and $200 for every one he drops. [SBNation]

Former Patriots lineman Joe Andruzzi was standing near the finish line at the Boston Marathon on Monday when the bombs went off. He helped remove victims from the scene, including carrying one woman whose young daughters were struggling to help transport her away. [GuySpeed]

The University of Oregon football program may have committed “major” infractions of NCAA rules regarding recruiting. Former coach Chip Hale, now the head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles, has said that he’s aware of the investigation and has cooperated, but will not comment further until its conclusion. [L.A. Milwaukee Brewers starter Yovani Gallardo was arrested for driving under the influence. Gallardo paid a fine and was released, as his record was clean. [Yahoo]
