How long have we been celebrating MLK day?

Today, Monday, we are honoring and celebrating the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Former President Ronald Reagan was the one who signed a bill at the White House Rose Garden back in November of 1983, creating this federal holiday

What do the Iowa primary results actually mean

I've got a GOP (believe it or not!) political strategist and former speechwriter for former President George H.W. Bush on my radio program this afternoon (Thursday) at 4:35. She's Tracy Davis and Tracy grew up with the Kennedy's and was even mentored by the late Senator Ted Kennedy

Stand up for our trains

I don't have to tell you how important our Empire Builder is up here on the Hi-Line. For that matter, nationally, Amtrak ridership continues to set records and many of their trains are running full. With the growing population, along with fuel prices, we need more, not fewer, trains

Take a walk on the wild side

'm doing an interview this afternoon (Thursday) at 4:35PM about Sinatra's favorite watering hole and guess what? It wasn't the Dixie Inn! It was a joint down in Vegas named "Jilly's" that was a favorite Rat Pack hangout

Meet the Lizardman

He's "the Lizardman" and he's my guest at 4:35 this afternoon (Friday) on the Puffman Show. This guy is a pioneering figure in the world of body modification. And I thought my two radio microphone tattoos were odd! The Lizardman has endured an estimated 650 to 700 hours of tattooing. He's had five Teflon horns subdermally implanted above each of his eyes to form horned ridges, four of his teeth have been filed into sharp fangs, his tongue has been bifurcated (split) and get this afternoonsiders: The Lizardman estimates the work done to transform him would, at full price, cost close to $250,000 and he's still not done!

If you liked last winter, fasten your seat belts

If you enjoyed last winter here in the Golden Triangle, the Puffman Blog has some "good"(?) news for you today. La Nina, the main factor responsible for all the cold and snow last year, is back! According to the National Weather Service's Climate Prediction Center, La Nina conditions have returned and are expected to slowly strengthen and continue throughout the winter months. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration defines a La Nina as a period of cooler-than-normal sea-surface temperatures in the central and eastern tropical Pacific ocean, caused when cold water from deep in the ocean wells up to the surface.

Did she really do it?

The murder case of Amanda Knox, an American who was convicted of killing and being involved (along with others) in the sexual assault of her roommate in 2007 was acquitted by an Italian Jury. Now, Knox has appealed her conviction for slander, as she wrongfully accused Italian police of beating a confession out of her

I got abducted this weekend!

Well, I felt like I did after previewing the book, "Who Believes in Roswell-Discovering the Profile of the Roswell Believer." Frank Borzellieri's book is a good read if, for no other reason, the foreword was written by George Noory. If you're a "Coast to Coast" fan, I don't have to tell you who George Noory is. In fact, in my opinion, his picture on some of the websites looks every bit as strange as the man seems to be.

What does the name Puffer really mean?

I guess I'll find out this afternoon (Tuesday) at 4:35 when Sharo`n Lynn Wyeth is one of my afternoon guests. Ms Wyeth is a "name expert" and well she should be. She's been researching names for some 15 years and then field-testing the results in over 70 countries prior to her writing her bestselling book, "Know the Name: Know the Person"
