On Monday, Paul McCartney visited a memorial to singer Whitney Houston outside of the Beverly Hills hotel that she was found dead in on Saturday night (Feb. 11). The singer and his wife Nancy Shevell laid flowers and shared a quiet moment before quickly departing the scene at the Beverly Hilton.

TMZ reports that the 69-year-old deflected compliments stemming from his performances during Sunday night’s Grammy Awards. “This is about Whitney, not me,” he said while shaking hands with a few fans and ignoring media requests for further comment. The entire visit — seen below — lasted less than one minute.

Houston died on Saturday at the age of 48. Investigators recently confirmed that she was found unconscious in a bathtub by a member of her entourage. While the cause of death remains under investigation, prescription drugs were found in her hotel room.

McCartney performed twice at the Grammys on Sunday night, first singing his new song ‘My Valentine’ with Joe Walsh, and later closing the show in an all-star jam with Walsh, Bruce Springsteen and Dave Grohl. The group did a medley of songs from ‘Abbey Road.’
