Stroke Victim Stranded in South Pole Finally Heads Home [VIDEO]
Last week, we reported on Renee-Nicole Douceur, a researcher who’s been stranded in the South Pole since suffering a stroke in August. After awaiting rescue for seven agonizing weeks, Douceur has finally begun to make her way back home, ‘Today‘ reports.
Douceur departed the South Pole yesterday on a cargo plane and is now in Christchurch, New Zealand undergoing medical treatment for her condition.
It remains to be seen whether Douceur has suffered any permanent impairment from her stroke.
