LOCAL SPORTS – “ATHLETE OF THE WEEK”

(UNDATED)—KSEN/K96—BOZEMAN TROPHY ATHLETE’S OF THE WEEK HAD SOLID OPENING WEEKENDS AND ARE EXPECTED TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE FOR THEIR TEAMS ALL-SEASON LONG.

FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK HONORS GO TO PEYTON HAWKS OF CJI.    HAWKS LED THE HAWKS TO TWO VICTORIES WITH 17-POINTS THAT INCLUDED FOUR-3’s, IN A 9-POINT WIN OVER SUNBURST.

SHE WAS SECOND LEADING SCORER BEHIND ABBY FRASER IN A CJI WIN OVER POWER BUT STILL IN DOUBLE FIGURES WITH 12 AND A PERFECT 4-4 FROM THE FREE THROW LINE.

OUR MALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK IS A PLAYER WE EXPECT TO HEAR A LOT FROM THIS SEASON.  FAIRFIELD SOPHOMORE KEELEY BAKE OPENED THE YEAR LEADING THE EAGLES IN SCORING IN EACH OF THEIR 1ST TWO GAMES.

HE TOSSED UP 19 IN A LOSS TO BIG TIMBER WITH THREE-3’s and 18 THE NEXT NIGHT AGAINST 3 FORKS AND HAD TWO MORE 3’S.  HE ALSO WENT 4-6 AT THE FREE THROW LINE AND FAIRFIELD GOT A 44-42 WIN.
