We ARE Montana
As we celebrate Memorial Day today (Monday) here in the Big Sky, we should also recall that it was yesterday (Sunday), May 26th that marked the date back in 1964 when President Abraham Lincoln designated Montana a “Territory” as this area became known as “Montana Territory”. Our original state prison (the old prison) at Deer Lodge was built when Montana was STILL a territory & was originally a Territorial Prison! Some 25 years later on November 8th, 1889, Montana officially became a “STATE!” Happy Birthday Montana! This truly is…The Last Best Place!
