Just as it was during the regular season and the District Tournament, the Fairfield Eagles were dominant among local Basketball teams.  It was no different in last week's Divisional Tournament and both of our KSEN/K96--Bozeman Trophy Athletes of the Week are Eagles.
Male Athlete of the Week honors go to Fairfield Jr. Brock Peace.  Eagles Head Coach Jordan Ratliff says with Malta focused in on Deron Lear they definitely wanted to take ball inside to the 6'4" post. It turned out to be Brock's best game of the season, just when Fairfield needed it most, to make it to the State Tournament.   He also turned in a big performance in the Championship game against Harlem with 20-points and 7 rebounds. In the Divisional Tournament, he averaged 15 points per game and 7.5 rebounds.
The Fairfield girls came up just short of State trip, but not for lack of effort.  A constant leader, with superb athletic ability, Eagles Sr. Natalie Harrell, who many times at 5'9" gets posted up with taller players in the post but has the knack for rebounding and always seems to get her share. Natalie also led the Eagles in Scoring with a huge opening game with 25 points.  she had 16 and 11 respectively against Poplar and Glasgow and also went 9-9 at the free throw line. In the Friday afternoon win over Rocky Boy she topped the list with 17.
Congratulations to our KSEN/K96--Bozeman Trophy Athletes of the Week, Jr. Brock Peace, and Sr. Natalie Harrell, both from Fairfield.  The Athlete of the Week is sponsored locally by McDonald's in Cut Bank. McDonald's honors our Athlete's with two free value meals each.
