KSEN/K96--Bozeman Trophy Athletes of the Week racked up some impressive statistics enroute to a runaway win on the football field and continually winning ways on the volleyball court.

We had no less than 4 nominations from football this week and all of those athlete's had excellent games, but the one that stood out the most to us was Choteau Jr. Dax Yeager. Most sports fans in the area know that Dax is a big boy and he certainly threw his weight around in Choteau's big win over Centerville. His defensive presence was relentless as he came up with 3 tackles, 2 QB hurries, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and an interception, resulting in two defensive TD's.  On offense, Dax had 4 receptions for 69 yards and 3 TD's, two-2-point conversion receptions. Yeager is the Bulldogs Inside Linebacker, and Tight End and at 6'5", 235 he is a beast on the Football field and on the basketball court for that matter.

We also had nominations for two Conrad players, Trapper Kinamon who is an offensive lineman who got to run the ball in for a TD and then an extra point.  He also added 3 sacks and three tackles for losses in the win over Cut Bank. Also nominated Tegan Jones, on of Conrad's leading rushers and Touchdown makers on the ground. And finally, CJI So. Levi Nelson who had 106 yards rushing, 2 TD's and led the Hawks defense with 8 solo tackles.  Also, a 38-yard punt return for a TD, in only about a half a game.
Our Female Athlete of the Week, another Hawk, who continues to do her thing on the Volleyball court.  Jr. Brynn Kammerzell is knocking down kills and serving up aces at a rapid pace.  In conference play during the week she had 15 kills, 3 aces against Power/Dutton/Brady and then 17 kills and 9 aces against Simms. The real test, however, was CJI's play in the Jefferson mid-season Tournament against all Class B opponents.  CJI Coach Jordan Miller says Brynn had 73 kills in the Tournament and played right up to the level of some of the best-in-Class B, like Jefferson, Huntley and Florence.  Not only played up to the level, "she stood out." Kammerzell also had 19 aces in that Tournament, with 8 of them coming against Hi-Line foe Shelby.  The Hawks got the win in that set, but Coach Miller pointed out it wasn't a full match.
Congratulations to our KSEN/K96--Bozeman Trophy Athletes of the Week, Jr. Dax Yeager of Choteau and CJI Jr. Brynn Kammerzell. The Athlete of the Week is sponsored locally by McDonald's in Cut Bank. McDonalds honors our Athlete's with two free value meals each.
