Our KSEN/K96--Bozeman Trophy Athlete of the Week, took on a bit of a different role last weekend and it turned into two big wins for the Conrad Cowboys.
The Cowboys senior point guard Reece Taylor is typically not the team's leading scorer, but rather the guy that runs the offense, picks up a lot of assists, and plays solid defense, getting his share of rebounds and steals. But, in the Friday conference matchup with Choteau, the Cowboys needed some scoring, and Taylor saw the opportunity and delivered.  Reece not only knocked down a 3-point buzzer beater to end the 1st half, but he also did the same thing to end the game and give Conrad a key win over Choteau. Taylor ended the game with 19 points, 3 assists, 3 steals and 4 rebounds.  Saturday, in another win against Rocky Boy, a little more normal with 9-points, 9-rebounds, and 9 assists.
In the aftermath of that heated affair, Choteau players were directed to head to the locker room with no handshake line.  Cole Wood, however, did shake hands with many of the teammates he plays Legion Baseball with, and 3 Conrad fans nominated him for Athlete of the Week, highlighting that action.
We also had a nomination this week for Sunburst Sr. Michael Miller who led Sunburst with 15 points in a key conference win over Augusta.
Congratulations to our KSEN/K96--Bozeman Trophy Athlete of the Week, Conrad Sr. Reece Taylor. The Athlete of the week is sponsored locally by McDonald's in Cut Bank. McDonald's honors our Athlete's with two free value meals.
