Not many authors of Westerns turn their attention to Christmas. My special guest tomorrow afternoon (Thursday) on the Puffman Show has done just that. He's Murray W. Nabors (no relation to Jim) and I've invited him back on the program this year
I have a very special guest joining me this afternoon at 4:35 and she WON'T be on the phone-long distance live from somewhere like many of my guests but she'll be right here in our KSEN broadcast studio on Oilfield Avenue
I was at the Marias Heritage Center last evening (Tuesday) sharing some Montana History with some of the residents. We're almost half way through Great Falls' writer Ruth McLaughlin's thoroughly fascinating "Bound Like Grass"
Have you ever heard a word that triggered you to sing a song? (I like to sing!) If so, then YOU are Spontuneous! "Spontuneous" is the game where lyrics come to life and it's a brand new party board game for all ages
This time of year reminds me of the Diamonds and their 1958 "blast from the past", "The Stroll"...We're strolling and styling here in the Golden Triangle. The Conrad Christmas Stroll is coming up this Wednesday and this week is a very special time for Conrad
It's not always "over the hills and through the woods we go to grandmothers' house" on Thanksgiving day. In fact, if you're as old as I am, granny's probably long dead and a little bit of your relatives goes a long ways if you catch my drift
I don't have to tell you how important our Empire Builder is up here on the Hi-Line. For that matter, nationally, Amtrak ridership continues to set records and many of their trains are running full. With the growing population, along with fuel prices, we need more, not fewer, trains
I note that my friend, the Gabby Cabby, Peter Franklin, the New York City cab driver, has started a "new feature" on his website. It's a new weekly blog about food called "Mrs. Gabby's Kitchen". Funny, I always thought her last name would be and/or should be "Franklin" and not "Gabby"
What a GREAT name for a book. As we continue reading Ruth McLaughlin's book during Montana History at the Marias Heritage Center, the title is starting to resonate more and more with me. Ruth grew up in Eastern Montana and in my opinion, both her parents and her grandparents, along with many of the homesteaders, had one tough miserable life
A little cold weather certainly doesn't dampen our enthusiasm when comes to getting out and enjoying our weekends here in the Last Best Place. And talk about a good antidote for the chilly weather...Quality Life Concepts in Conrad is putting on a chili dinner this evening (Friday) at the Conrad Moose Lodge
My Tuesday evening "Montana History" went well last evening at the Marias Heritage Center in Shelby. We have exactly three more stories/chapters to read in "The Doctor Wore Petticoats". I'm really looking forward to starting our next book, "Bound Like Grass"
