Food-Conditioned Black Bear Euthanized Visitors Reminded to Never Feed Wildlife
WEST GLACIER, MONT. – Glacier National Park Rangers euthanized a black bear from the Many Glacier area on Tuesday, June 17 after an incident in which the bear exhibited apparent food-conditioned behavior.
WASHINGTON, June 23, 2014 – Producers with expiring U.S. Department of Agriculture Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP) contracts have from July 11 until Sept. 12, 2014 to renew and add conservation activities that will support their natural resource improvement activities and fine-tune their conservation plans.
BIGFORK—A popular annual fundraiser for Montana wildlife biologists who oversee the state’s grizzly bear population is scheduled for July 11 at Jack and Suzi Hanna’s farm near Bigfork. Montana’s Outdoor Legacy Foundation—formerly the Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks Foundation—organizes the yearly event in order to give state biologists the tools and personnel they need to, among other things, manage grizzly populations in areas where populations are strong and to relocate a few grizzlies from around Kalispell to the Cabinet Mountains where numbers are low
