Take a walk on the wild side

‘m doing an interview this afternoon (Thursday) at 4:35PM about Sinatra’s favorite watering hole and guess what? It wasn’t the Dixie Inn! It was a joint down in Vegas named “Jilly’s” that was a favorite Rat Pack hangout. My special guest this afternoon will be Rich Herschlag who’s written the untold glamorous and brutal true story of the famous and the infamous. It’s all here in his book “Sinatra, Gotti, and Me”, a book that not only names names but reveals secrets-and recounts as as-of-yet unheard stories about the exploits of Sinatra and his cohorts. To be honest, I was never a fan of the Rat Pack. I thought they were a bunch of uncool, unhip pigs that had the morals and manners of barn animals and that’s when I’m being kind. These guys were jokers and uncouth jokers at that! That said, I’m more than anxious to talk with Herschlag this afternoon and find out the scuttlebutt on these immature louts. Herschlag promises to share the pecking order of the Rat Pack, and the many ways Sinatra wielded power over friends and hangers-on. I also want to hear the story about how and why nightclub impresario Tony Delvecchio said “no” when John Gotti made him an offer he “couldn’t” refuse. Herschlag should be a good guest (as long as he doesn’t read my blog) as he’s appeared on The Osgood File and his work has been covered in the New York Times, USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, Reader’s Digest, Publisher’s Weekly, and ESPN The Magazine. Well, welcome to the Puiffman Show Rich, we’re not doing brain surgery here. We’ll see you later this afternoon. In the meantime, be sure and check out “Sinatra, Gotti, and Me” from ArcheBooks Publishi
