Male athlete of the week honors go to Valier's standout running back and defensive back, Isaac Ramos. Ramos may never be described as a "big back" at just five foot five and 140 pounds, but "quick," "smart," "tough"... those terms would definitely apply. In Valier's undefeated Northern Division Conference season, Ramos has had numerous games worthy of the selection, but until now hasn't received the recognition. In the Panther's 70-6 win over Box Elder, the speedy running back rushed for 128 yards and two touchdowns. He also returned a kickoff 78 yards for a touchdown, had two interceptions for touchdowns and eight solo tackles on the defense. Ramos is one of the surest tacklers on the Panther defense and obviously provides an offensive spark with 13 touchdowns in Valier's last four games.

Our female athlete of the week is senior, Molly Salmond. Salmond is described by head coach Ann Funk as "As steady as they come." She also says that Molly is "Always in control of what she's doing and where she should be on the floor. Never makes an excuse and is always playing hard." With that said, Salmond has a lot of power and blocking ability at the net. She is in every serve-receive rotation and a player that Ann Funk says "We want to touch the ball as much as possible." In a key conference match win over Shelby last week, Salmond led the team with three aces and tied for the team lead in blocks with four. Megan Krone also had four. Against Conrad, she led the team with seven digs and in the third match of the week against Cut Bank, Salmond had nine kills, three aces, and ten digs.

Congratulations to our KSEN/K96 Bozeman Trophy Athletes of the Week. The Athlete of the week is sponsored locally by McDonalds in Cut Bank. McDonalds honors our athletes with two free value meals each.
