Our KSEN/K96—Bozeman Trophy Athlete of the Week was a huge factor in helping the Shelby Lady Coyotes punch their 1st ticket to the State Tournament in 23 years.
Coyote Jr. Maddison Underdal led Shelby in scoring in all three of the Northern B Divisional games last weekend and also led or tied for the leading rebound numbers.  Her biggest point number came in the opener against Glasgow where she scored 23, hitting an amazing 15-18 from the free-throw line, including 8-10 in the 4th quarter when the Scotties were making a furious comeback with 5x3’s in the quarter.
Underdal continually drove strong to the basket, got fouled and hit free throws.  She also had 5 rebounds and 4-steals in the Glasgow game.
Shelby’s biggest team victory was Friday night over the Harlem Wildcats who had previously lost only one game all season.  Underdal’s 17 points and 12 rebounds led the way in that contest as well, but it must be noted that the Coyotes played one of their best team games all season with Bailey Johnson bringing down 11 rebounds and Kendall Anderson and Brogan McAllister hitting a combined 7x3’s.
The offense was not nearly as effective in the Sat. night Championship game against Malta, who plays excellent defense, but Underdal still led the way in scoring with 11 and pulled down 5 rebounds.
Maddison is a multi-talented athlete who also excels in Volleyball and swimming.
Congratulations to our KSEN/K96—Bozeman Trophy Athlete of the Week, Shelby Jr. Maddison Underdal.  The Athlete of the Week is sponsored locally by McDonald’s in Cut Bank. McDonald’s honors our athletes with two free value meals each.
