KSEN/K96—Bozeman Trophy Athletes of the Week had a career high performance on the female side and a continuance of state-leading stats on the male side.

Our male Athlete of the Week, Sr. Riley Spoonhunter of Browning has been playing “really solid,” all season long according to Head Coach Dan Connelly.  We mainly see the consistent scoring but when you look a little deeper, Spoonhunter is leading the Class A ranks with nearly 5 assists per game, is 4th in the State in steals and 3rd in scoring, averaging over 22-points a game.  Spoonhunter trails only Brendan Johnson of Livingston, over 26-points a game and Famous Left Hand of Hardin, averaging 24-points a game. In contests this past week, Riley was instrumental in Browning’s comeback victory over Whitefish Sat. night and ended with 26.  He had 16 in the Ronan game thru 3 quarters as Browning won easily and then hit 20 points in the win over Shelby Tuesday night.   Coach Connelly noted that he also did a good job guarding 6-8” Rhett Reynolds in the Shelby game.  Spoonhunter is also averaging around 5 rebounds per game.

Our female Athlete of the Week had a career night and a career week for the Conrad Cowgirls.  Sr. Kate Murack started things off with 23 pts on 6 three-point shots Tues. against Heart Butte and then followed that up with 27 against Shelby on 7 three-pointers.  As you’ll be able to tell from this clip she was also getting things done defensively. And the Sr. shooter came back with 14 Sat. in a Conrad win over Cut Bank.  Conrad Head Coach Callie Utterback says Murack is very quick on defense and is among the team leader in steals.  She had 4 in the Cut Bank game.

Congratulations to our KSEN/K96—Bozeman Trophy Athlete’s of the Week, Sr. Kate Murack of Conrad and Sr. Riley Spoonhunter of Browning.  The Athlete of the Week is sponsored locally by McDonald’s in Cut Bank.  McDonald’s honors our Athlete’s with two free value meals each.
