KSEN/K96 – Bozeman Trophy athletes of the week both came up with stellar performances this past week and both resulted in victories for their respective teams.

Ladies first, our female athlete of the week is, according to coach Casey Rasmussen, taking the level of play “up a notch,” for the Dutton/Brady volleyball team. In two matches, junior Siera Proff, recorded 12 kills, 8 aces and 3 blocks In two straight sweeps over Valier and Heart Butte. Proff is a returning starter and second team all-conference selection from a year ago. In the two years Rasmussen has been coaching, she points out that it was a lot of consistent, daily commitment throughout the summer that has helped Proff improve. Proff plays front row, back row and serves and also serve receives in all six rotations.

Junior, Aaron White has been starting for Shelby since his freshman season, has shown some great improvement in composure and decision-making while running the offense. While the coyotes missed two chances at touchdowns in the first half in their game against eureka, they stayed focused and finally broke things open in the third quarter on a White to Andrew Johnson 68-yard touchdown pass. White ended the night in wash-grizzly stadium with 16 rushes for 89 yards and one touchdown. He hit 12-20 passes for 208 yds and two touchdowns. Coach Mike White noted that Aaron hitting the long ball turned the game around for Shelby and his running was also key when the defense was focused on the pass or Zach Torgerson who also had a huge night with 170yds and one touchdown.

Congratulations to our KSEN/K96—Bozeman Trophy athletes of the week…Junior Siera Proff of Dutton/Brady and junior Aaron White of Shelby.
