KSEN/K96 Athlete of the Week
Our KSEN/K96--Bozeman Trophy Athletes of the Week are up to their same old outstanding achievements in the new season.
Male Athlete of the Week honors go to a two-time State Champion, once in Mt. and once in Alaska, Sr. Asher Clayton of Choteau. Clayton has now won his second straight wrestling tournament of the season and remains undefeated. The Choteau Sr. got his latest victory this past weekend at the Glasgow Invitational with 3 pins and 1 technical fall. His victories earned 31.5 points of Choteau's 139.5 as the Bulldogs nailed down 3rd place against much bigger squads from Glasgow and Sidney. Choteau Head Coach Chuck DeBoo called Asher's performance an integral part of the Bulldogs 3rd place finish. We also had a nomination for Teagan Arnold of Conrad who scored nearly 50-points in two Conrad wins.
Our female Athletes of the Week and I emphasize the plural. After broadcasting both of the Shelby girls Basketball games I found it difficult to separate the two and we had nominations for both. Our Co-female Athletes of the Week, Sr. Adele Lamb and Jr. Addison Richman. Both played great defense, had numerous steals and rebounds and led the way in scoring in two Coyote wins. Addison Richman almost broke a Shelby school record for three pointers in a game with 6 against Stillwater Christian. She ended the night with 22 points. Adele Lamb had 19 in the Stillwater game. Defensively, it was pointed out that Richman held Stillwater's Jolisa Pond to just 9 points after she had scored 30 the night before. Lamb had 8 rebounds in the game. The two scorers also led the way on the opening day against Eureka with Richman throwing in 21 and Lamb 18.
Congratulations to our KSEN/K96--Bozeman Trophy Athletes of the Week, Sr. Asher Clayton of Choteau and Sr. Adele Lamb and Jr. Addison Richman of Shelby. The Athlete of the Week is sponsored locally by McDonald's. McDonald's honors our Athlete's with two free value meals each.
