As we approach breast cancer awareness month, Casting for Recovery, a non-profit providing fly-fishing retreats to women with breast cancer, is set to hold its national fundraiser in Montana's Bitterroot Valley NEXT weekend, Saturday & Sunday, October 4th & 5th. It's called "Cast One for Hope" & it's a single-fly tournament. This  means, each contestant gets just ONE FLY to fish with to be in the running for the grand prize. It's a fun time for a great cause! Whitney Milhoan, the Executive Director for Casting for Recovery says, "Anyone who has spent a day on the Bitterroot in the fall knows what kind of healing properties that experience can provide. Next weekend's event is a great opportunity to raise money to offer the same thing to women with breast cancer. Being surrounded by nature, the camaraderie, the connection with wildlife, the determination & concentration, plus the physical motion of casting a rod...these are all elements of fishing that can truly help women with breast cancer." Each event participant will choose 1 fly to use for the day. If that fly becomes lost or unusable, the contestant is out of the running for "longest-lasting fly", but can still continue fishing for fun & win additional prices. Professional guides are provided by Wapiti Waters Fly Fishing, Grizzly Hackle, Fishs Eddy O, Renegade Outfitters, Missoula Fishing Company, Jeff Lukas Guide Service, Blackfoot Outfitter, Two Dog Outfitters, Missoulian Angler & Osprey Outfitters. Registration is open to the public & includes a private kickoff party including whiskey sampling, local beer & heavy appetizers at a stunning riverside home, a full-day guided drift including lunch, an exclusive celebration dinner at the Stock Farm Club & awards. The exclusive meet & greet with local fare & brews is set for next weekend, Friday (October 4th) & the One-fly fishing event with guides & lunch takes place on Saturday, October 5th. Space IS limited & you're encouraged to register NOW at: castoneforhope.org. Cast one for hope!
