KSEN/K96—Bozeman Trophy Athletes of the Week had memorable performances on the biggest stage in H.S. sports this past weekend. Our male Athlete of the Week, and we should note first, even though Fairfield lost to Manhattan in the Semi-final game, there were 4 Eagles we thought should be considered.   They included Jr. defensive lineman Kolter Bouma, Tight End Daniel Faith, QB Keeley Bake and rec/def. back Conor Murray and we gave the nod to Jr. Conor Murray who intercepted a Manhattan pass in the 1st half that really changed the momentum in the game.

The interception led directly to Fairfield’s 1st Touchdown and tied the game at 6-6.  He caught two more big passes on the next Fairfield drive and then, of course, there was this late in the 4th quarter.

The Eagles with an extra point kick by Bake tied the game but then, of course, Manhattan came back to score the winning TD on the ensuing drive.

Our female Athlete of the Week, and we also considered 4 athlete’s here including Shelby’s Maddison Underdal who had 19 kills in the opening round win against Florence/Carlton, Nicole Krone a big hitter for the Bulldogs, Christine Funk and Jr. Ellie Lee.  We gave the nod to Lee who has been strong at the net for the Bulldogs all season long. In the 4 matches at the State Tournament Lee led the Dawgs in kills 3 times and in Blocks in all 4 matches.  Her biggest effort came in the final match against Florence/Carlton where she drove it down for scores 13 times and added 3 blocks.

Congratulations to our KSEN/k96—Bozeman Trophy Athletes of the Week, Conor Murray of Fairfield and Ellie Lee of Choteau and congratulations to Choteau and Fairfield on their highly successful seasons in Football and Volleyball.  The Athlete of the Week is sponsored locally by McDonald’s in Cut Bank.   McDonald’s honors our Athletes with two free value meals each.
