Athlete of the Week
KSEN/K96—Bozeman Trophy Athlete’s of the Week had strong opening weekends to start the 2020 season on the hardwood.
Our female Athlete of the Week was KSEN’s Co-Athlete of the year last year and is looking very strong in the opening games of her Sr. year. Fairfield guard Kenna Pitcher threw down 28 points in a big win over conference rival Shelby Fri. night. The returning All-State player has the Lady Eagles off to a 3-0 conference start and a 4-2 record overall.
Playing just 3 quarters in a runaway win over G.F. Central Saturday, Pitcher still managed to come up with 21 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 7 steals. Fairfield head Coach Dustin Gordon called it a “solid weekend,” which is accurate when you’re talking about a player that had a 42- point game to her credit in last year’s Divisional Tournament.
Our Male Athlete of the Week comes from the undefeated and third-ranked Class B team in the State right now, the Choteau Bulldogs. They escaped their first loss of the season with time running out in Conrad last Friday night. Sr. Kyle Crabtree, fouled on a drive to the basket, stepped up to the free throw line and won the game for Choteau.
Under pressure, Kyler Crabtree scored 11 of his 17 points all in the 4th Qtr. The Sr. is a 4-year starter for the Bulldogs and a returning All-Conference pick who also stars in Football and Baseball.
Congratulations to our KSEN/K96 – Bozeman Trophy Athlete’s of the Week, Sr. Kenna Pitcher of Fairfield and Sr. Kyler Crabtree of Choteau. The Athlete of the Week is sponsored locally by McDonald’s in Cut Bank. McDonald’s honors our Athlete’s with two free value meals each.
