Bozeman trophy Athletes of the Week….one has been here before and one hasn’t but has been a strong athlete in 3-sports this year.

Female athlete of the week honors go to Conrad/Choteau softball pitcher Tristin Achenbach who had a record setting weekend. The junior from Choteau already has so many achievements on the softball diamond you almost wonder what record is left to break. In this case she set a state record with 20 strikeouts in a single game against Huntly Project last weekend. It was almost a perfect game with the exception of one Huntly hit and one walk. Tristin, who has made a verbal commitment, to pitch for the University of Montana, also struck out 16 in a win over Columbus and 12 in a 5-inning win over Colstrip.   And she wasn’t bad with the bat either with 10-14 at the plate, 5 doubles, 1 homerun, 2 walks and 6 RBI’s in 4 games

Male athlete of the week honors go to an outstanding 3-sport athlete that is performing very well on the track right now. Fairfield senior C.J. McWilliams won both the 800 and the 1600 at last Saturday’s Fairfield-Belt invitational which featured 30 teams and around 500 athletes. In the 1600 C.J. had a personal best and with the win in both events helped Fairfield to the team championship in the meet.

Also nominated this week, Shelby golfer Bridger Martin who won two tournaments last weekend with a 78 at Fort Benton and a 36 in Cut Bank in a nine-hole tournament.

Congratulations to our KSEN/K96—Bozeman Trophy Athletes of the week, junior Tristin Achenbach of the Conrad/Choteau softball team and senior runner C.J. McWilliams of Fairfield. The athlete of the week is sponsored locally by McDonalds of Cut Bank. McDonalds honors our athlete’s with two free value meals each.
