LOCAL SPORTS – “ATHLETE OF THE WEEK”

(CONRAD) – Weather still wasn’t ideal, but good enough to get on the field and the track and compete last week and that gave us a couple of solid performances from our KSEN/K96—Bozeman Trophy Athletes of the Week.

Our female Athlete of the Week was a key player in Conrad’s 3-0 start to the season at a Tournament in Lewistown.  Her nominator said, “It’s the best I’ve ever seen her play” and the offensive numbers were impressive.

Conrad Jr. Ashlee Stokes, did a little bit of everything at the plate, hitting for an avg. of .500, and a .600 on base percentage.  She had 7 RBI’s, scored 4 runs and had 1 double and 1 HR.  Conrad Head Coach Tyson Anderson said "Even when she didn’t get on base, she was really hitting the ball hard, it was just right at somebody."

Stokes plays Right Field on the defense and Tyson says, “She has a strong arm and makes some really good plays.”

Our Male Athlete of the week started the year off exactly where he finished the year in 2022, with a 2nd place finish in the 100m at the State B.  Conrad Sr. Brinkley Evans had a 2nd in the Pre-Easter Invitational at Cut Bank and a 2nd in the 200m.   He also anchored the winning Conrad 400 Relay Team.

Evans also helps Conrad put points on the board for the team in the long jump where he finished 5th.

He’s also been a talented and versatile football player for the Cowboys over the last 3 years.

Congratulations to our KSEN/K96—Bozeman Trophy Athletes of the Week, Jr. Ashlee Stokes of Conrad and Sr. Brinkley Evans of Conrad.  The Athlete of the Week is sponsored by McDonald’s in Cut Bank. McDonald’s honors our athlete’s with two free value meals each.
