The 1st telephone arrived in Montana back in 1876, the same year Alexander Graham Bell patented his invention. We'll be reading about early Montana women telephone operators tonight (Tuesday) up at the Marias Heritage Center. Ellen Arguimbau wrote the segment of the book we're currently enjoying AT the Heritage, "Beyond Schoolmarms and Madams: Montana Women's Stories," from the Montana Historical Society in Helena. See this evening at 6 o'clock SHARP at the Marias Heritage Center here in Shelby for MORE Montana History.
